Public Policy Update: Medical Nutrition Therapy Act of 2005
This bill has been introduced in both the Senate (bill number S. 604) and House (H. R. 1582). The passage of the bill would authorize Medicare to decide for which disease states MNT could be reimbursed. This means that when there is enough evidence to support MNT intervention it would no longer require an “act of Congress-literally.
