For those interested in ordering documents online - Loansome Doc is the document delivery component of PubMed, an online database of health science article citations produced by the National Library of Medicine (NLM). PubMed provides a user-friendly search interface to MEDLINE. Loansome Doc allows users to send electronic orders for articles to a local medical library. By agreement with the NLM, the ADA Library serves as a document delivery center and point of contact for obtaining articles.

Full-text journal articles are ordered online using the Loansome Doc ordering screen. Requests are sent to DOCLINE, which transfers them to the ADA Library. The library fills the request or, if the journal is unavailable, routes it to a library that has the article. In either case, the requester receives a PDF of the article via e-mail.
